Breakfast Seminar Series – Pay Equity – Are You Compliant

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the enactment of Ontario’s Pay Equity Act. Although the law has been in place for 30 years, the obligations that it places on employers have not remained static. In addition, the federal government has committed to implement proactive pay equity legislation for federally-regulated employers before the end of 2018.
Are you a provincially-regulated organization with more than 10 employees? If so, are you confident that you understand your pay equity obligations and that your organization is compliant with the legislative requirements? Do you have a pay equity plan? If so, how old is it? Could you locate a copy of your plan? Did you know that you are required to maintain pay equity within your organization? As a federally-regulated employer, do you have a sense of what proactive legislation might mean for your organization?
Join us as our lawyers provide a basic overview of pay equity legislation in Ontario and what is being proposed by the federal government. This will be a practical session that will provide employers with a good review of what they are required to do under the legislation.
