George Rontiris

George manages a broad practice on behalf of employers, with a particular emphasis on proceedings before various administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Canada Industrial Relations Board. George also specializes in collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations and providing advice with respect to other labour relations matters.

George represents many employers in the transportation sector, including marine, air and ground transportation clients. Over the last 15 years this sector has faced a myriad of complex issues including devolution from the Federal Government, the implementation of various cost saving initiatives, and executing technological improvements. These challenges have all been implemented without any labour disruptions.

George also represents hotel and hospitality sector employers in collective bargaining and various other labour matters.

 

A partner of Emond Harnden, George has an MBA from McGill University.

Active in the community, he is a member of the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade. George is former Chair of the Federal Government Affairs Committee of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario. He has also taught in the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Program and lectured in Industrial Relations at Carleton University.
