Description The federal government’s sweeping amendments to modernize the labour standards provisions of the Canada Labour Code (CLC) will bring extensive and costly changes to federally-regulated employers covered by the CLC. Several amended and new labour standards are expected to come into force on September 1, 2019, with more to come in 2020. The Bill C-86 introduction of a new proactive Pay Equity Act will require federally-regulated employers to ensure that men and women performing work of equal value are paid equally.
