Justin acts for clients in a variety of litigation and arbitration proceedings relating to labour and employment law. His practice has a particular emphasis on the education sector and in administrative and constitutional law. Justin provides legal and strategic advice in both official languages in numerous Canadian jurisdictions.
Justin has acted as counsel of record before trial and appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the New Brunswick Court of Appeal and the New Brunswick Queen’s Bench. He also appeared in front of provincial and federal administrative tribunals.
Justin began his legal career as a law clerk at the Federal Court. Before joining Emond Harnden in 2017, Justin practiced in a national law firm as well as a litigation boutique in Ottawa. He is a member of the Ontario and Alberta Bars.
Justin graduated from the Faculty of Law of the McGill University. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Oxford in the UK and an Honours B.A. from Colby College, USA. Justin has also studied at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany and at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Throughout his studies, Justin received numerous prizes and scholarships, including the I. Ballon Memorial Medal, the Arthur C. Helton Fellowship awarded by the American Society of International Law and the Davis United World College Scholarship.
Justin is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario.
