Tess Brown

Research Lawyer

Tess is a Research Lawyer who provides support in both official languages to the firm’s other lawyers in all aspects of labour and employment law.

Tess completed her articles and began her legal career as an associate at a full-service firm in Ottawa, where she developed a broad-based litigation practice with a particular emphasis on civil and commercial litigation, as well as employment law. During this time, she gained a breadth of litigation experience, representing both individual and corporate clients before the Small Claims Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, as well as various administrative tribunals including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal and the Social Security Tribunal of Canada. Tess now brings this practical knowledge and experience to bear in her work for the firm’s clients.

 

Tess graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Honours Bachelor of Social Science (Specialization in Political Science) from the University of Ottawa.

She also completed her Juris Doctor through the University’s French Common Law Program.

Tess was called to the Bar in 2016.

Tess is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association and the Advocacy Club of Ottawa.
